Ashton Park School have been running expeditions to Kenya since the summer of 2004
In 2004 a team of 17 went to Kenya for 3 weeks and built a playground at Inspirations School as well as painting classrooms and teaching the children.
In 2006 a team of 32 went back to Inspirations School and built 2 classrooms and a number of administration rooms including a staff room.
In 2008 Ashton Park School raised £7000 for a classroom, supplied 15 laptop computers and had our first teacher exchange.
In 2009 a team of 15 are planning to help Inspirations School further develop their education facilities by building another classroom.
We also have a team of 18 students planning the fundraising events for an expedition in 2010!
The Inspirations expedition is a social enterprise activity run by the students and it has raised £18500 for Inspirations School. We hope to raise £5000 year on year, helping the school grow from 50 (when we first went in 2004) to almost 800 by 2012
